The Villa of The Domizi Enobarbi on Giannutri Island
The Roman Villa of Giannutri (Gr) – Restoration, enhancement and fruition improvement works
Brief historical notes. The Roman Villa of Giannutri can be ascribed, in the current state of research, to the Trajan-Hadrian age (late I – early decades of the 2nd century AD); it constitutes one of the most representative complexes of idle maritime villas built in the high imperial age in the most suggestive coastal and island sites of the Italian peninsula. Its layering on several levels takes full advantage of the lively morphology of the island of Giannutri and the panoramic potential of the site, from which you can enjoy 360-degree visibility that embraces the Argentario, the island of Giglio and the Tuscan and Lazio coast even beyond Civitavecchia.
